Welcome to the website of the Fairford, Faringdon, Filkins and Burford Ploughing Society. Hopefully this site will give you all the information you need to help you enjoy your day out at the show, held annually on the last Saturday in September.

2021 Update

We would like to thank everyone for their support, which is vital to the ongoing success of the Society and enables the event to take place.

This years Ploughing Match & Country Show is to be held on Saturday 25th September at Manor Farm, Hatford, Nr Faringdon SN7 8JH.

It is a fantastic site and we are hoping to hold a near normal Match & Show. There are two main differences this year, the main marquee will be replaced by a series of smaller open sided marquees that will accommodate the Craft exhibitors but it does unfortunately mean there will be no Homecraft or Children’s classes but they are to be replaced by a display of their exhibits to inspire you for future years. There will be Trade Stands, outside Craft Stalls, Food Vendors, Main Ring displays, Heavy Horses, Ploughmen, the Working area and an outside Bar.

The event will be TICKET ONLY so please visit this website to purchase via the online link which goes live by mid-August. This applies to Members also but they will receive a letter detailing the process.

We will be governed by the latest COVID regulations, please see our Covid 19 Code of Conduct.

We hope we can rely on your support again this year.

Any questions please contact us.

The next event is on the Saturday 25 September 2021 . As usual there will be the normal ploughing match in the morning and the Country Show in the afternoon with all your favorite exhibitions and demonstrations. Please find out further detail about the event, when they become available, here...

Ploughing is still the prime job in cultivation the earth and, despite this high technological and computerised age, the basic design of the plough remains largely unchanged since medieval times. There are several types of plough but all are based on the same principle. Find out more here...
